Our Story
In 1951 our founder, R. Newton Riley began working at a Dryer’s Shoe Store in his hometown of Lebanon, MO while in high school. In 1956 at the age of 20, he decided to move his family to Columbia and open his own shoe store which is still in the original location. Out of respect for the business that got him started, he decided to keep the name Dryer’s Shoe Store with the approval of his former employer. Once in Columbia, he decided to stock the business with the latest trends in footwear and was dedicated to providing the best customer service for his customers. Over the next 60 years and three generations later, Dryer’s has stayed true to our roots — providing our community with the highest quality of footwear, latest trends and of course great customer service! As one of the oldest downtown retailers, we invite to you stop by and experience a piece of Columbia history.

Our Return Policy
- 14 days for a full refund
- Refunds will be given in the form of payment EXCEPT cash will be refunded as a check
- Check refunds will be granted 10 days after original purchase
- Credit card refunds will be issued to the same card the original purchase was made on.
- Refunds will only be granted on UNWORN shoes in resale condition – NO EXCEPTIONS!
- Original box and receipt must accompany shoes to be returned!
- No box, no receipt, no refund
- Sale rack shoes are final sale
- Within 30 days, UNWORN shoes may be EXCHANGED or returned for STORE CREDIT
- No refunds on exchanges after 30 days
- If shipped, shipping charges will not be refunded
